20+ years indusrty experience
The energy transition provides opportunities to diversify revenue and enhance in-country value through deploying new technology into new or existing assets. Stakeholder expectations are changing, and the complexity of integrating new energy resources whilst abating carbon needs resilient long-term planning.

We have worked with NOCs in every region to help them understand the new energy landscape and to work out how economic value and in-country value can best be created.

Communicating the objectives and value of our projects to all project stakeholders face-to-face is something we view as vitally important for success.
Option 1 below, which I'm not a big fan. Too many unecessary words - we should not try to educate people, but say clearly in terms of what we DO in a very straightforward way.
Capabilities
ADVISORY
R&D strategy and execution
Our consultants have extensive experience in blending R&D best practice with business imperatives. Our approach starts with business objectives and resource characteristics where R&D goals and activities will need to be aligned. For NOCs this is often about maximising, e.g., developing and nurturing the national research ecosystem, with in-house applied R&D used for proprietary differentiation. Regardless, for NOCs R&D requires effective collaboration and a tight focus on a small number of areas where R&D risk is balanced by the asset portfolio reward.
Operation & cost efficiency
We look into the operational processes, production data, and other economic metrics to identify opportunities for efficiency gain; and implement solutions range from simple operational parameter adjustments to minor structural modifications or new technology adaptation.
Cost benefit analysis is often an integral component where we evaluate technology deployment success by articulating the value against the quantitative investment.
Carbon abatement opportunity
Decarbonising legacy assets is often driven by shareholders or wider stakeholders. Balancing what is technically possible with what is economically viable is often challenging, as carbon abatement often carries a significant production cost, CAPEX commitment or energy cost. Our approach uses techno-economic research and analysis to determine the likely cost versus the economic and wider benefits. The impact of asset decarbonisation on double materiality assessments (either reported or prepared as part of project scope) shows clearly the best options for responsible asset stewardship.
Concept / development studies - new resource
We have developed many early-stage studies for new resource types to create in-country value. These have included extracting minerals from oilfield produced water, small-scale LPG, CO2 as a fracturing fluid, virtual CNG pipelines and renewable heat integration. Our approach starts with knowledge sharing on the critical technology factors followed by a structured study process where information is freely shared and discussed throughout – with study, corporate and external stakeholders. This collaborative approach builds confidence within client teams in terms of technology factors, market factors and potential in-country value.
